With settings that range from the White House to alien planets, the Smith family battles enemies in order to save their beloved planet Earth. American Dad! is a series about a man and his family, with all of the battles, victories and losses that come with any family life. However, this is not the average American home, or your average American family. The father of this particular household, Stan Smith, works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. In addition to Stan's wife and teenage children, the Smith household has two rather unconventional members -- there's Roger, the sarcastic space alien who rescued Stan from Area 51 who deeply resents the fact that he's not allowed to leave the house; and then there's Klaus, a lascivious German-speaking goldfish whose brain was accidently implanted into a fish body by East German scientists."

American Dad! follows the events of CIA Agent Stan Smith and his family (wife Francine, son Steve, daughter Hayley and pet Klaus). In Season 1, Stan is caught in a government conspiracy to sell expired farm subsidies. Meanwhile, Roger tries to find Room Service cookies.
